The company was found in January 1993 by Capt. Elias A. Katsaros, who holds a master's license for unlimited ocean, has more than 20 years of seagoing experience. He is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra, Greece.
In the early 1980s, Capt. Katsaros became port captain for Prometheus Maritime Corp., Piraeus, Greece, where he was in charge of the operations department.
In 1988, Capt. Katsaros was appointed as assistant vice president with a large American-owned shipping agency. He became a permanent resident of the United States, working and residing in New Orleans. In December 1992, he resigned to establish Maritime Endeavors Shipping Co.
